Aruspice
Aruspice is a project that develops in a series of sculptures, large masks in which the abstraction of the face is established in a sort of primordial matter, living what is the plant of the vine and its remains. The project takes inspiration from ancient figure of sorcerer strongly rooted in the Italian territory bringing back archetypal faces and beliefs that live in our history coexisting in our cultural unconscious. Those sculptures are born on a material level by a complex work of intertwining and modelling of the grape stalks. The type of vineyard, its size, the plot, the quality of the vine and the shape of the stalks generate different shapes and expressions each time. Aruspice is an invitation to return to read nature closely and at the same time to look at the physical landscape and the mental landscape as parts of the same face.
